Calibration of tension meters for cable

Tradelab carries out the calibration of tension meters with 3 contact points with ENAC (ILAC) accreditation.

The calibration consists in generating a known tension in the cable, either by means of standard weights or by standard forces generated in a calibration bench.

Due to the influence on this type of instruments of rigidity, texture, surface irregularity and other physical characteristics of the cable, strip or wire, the calibration is done only for specific samples of cable, strip or wire.

The calibration is made in 6 points on the scale, from 10% to 100% of the full scale.

ENAC (ILAC) calibration

The tension meter calibration is performed with standard weights in the range of 0.1 N to 1000 N.
The calibration in force generation bench can be carried out from 20 N up to a maximum of 50 kN.
Calibration uncertainty (k = 2) in the whole range: 1%
The scope of the calibration includes the cable, strap or wire from which its tension force is measured, so that a sample of it, properly identified, will be considered as part of the equipment to be calibrated. A sample of this will be identify as a part of the equipment to be calibrated.
The calibration is only performed in the permanent laboratory.

Information required to perform a calibration budget:

Brand and model of the tension meter to calibrate.
Number of scales or types / diameters of cable, strip or wire to calibrate.
Identification of the cable, wire or strap. The material standard and its dimensional characteristics must be indicated, for example: cable 1/16 "MIL-DTL-83420-G064-7x7, PET strip of 13.0x0.40 mm (600N) Fromm brand.
