Ultrasonic flaw detectors calibration

Ultrasonic flaw detectors calibration

Tradelab performs ultrasonic flaw detector calibration with ENAC (ILAC) accreditation.

Tradelab carries out the calibration using the method established in standard EN 12668-1.

This standard establishes the measurement of the following parameters:

  • Stability :
    • After warm up (height and width)
    • Jitter-screen (height and width)
    • Against supply  variations (height and width)
  • Transmitter pulse :
    • Pulser  voltage
    • Pulser  reverberation
    • Puiser  rise  time
    • Pulse duration
  • Receiver :
    • Frequency response
    • Equivalent input noise
    • Calibrated attenuator accuracy
    • Vertical linearity
    • Linearity of timebase

ENAC (ILAC) acreditation

  • Ultrasonic flaw detectors with ENAC (ILAC) accreditation according to the EN 12668-1 standard, performing the measurements indicated in the previous section, in one or more frequency bandwidth.
  • For more information refer to the calibration Annex :

We can also calibrate with ENAC (ILAC) accreditation the standards used to adjust the transducers before using the equipment.

Information required to perform a calibration budget:

  • Brand and model of the instrument to calibrate.
  • Frequency band to calibrate.

It is not necessary to attach the transducers.

To assess the compliance with the criteria established by the standard, it is necessary to have the manufacturer’s specifications according to ISO 12668.

The charger and manual must be attached

Tradelab performs the calibration of a wide range of measuring instruments, in addition to ultrasonic flaw detector calibration.
